Indian Brave Knurl Meerschaum Pipe - A Native American Indian brave's long face with intense eyes and lines that resemble war paint etched on his cheeks is depicted in this portrait carving. A small feather on the side of a simple headband holds down his long, straight hair. Considering the pipe's overall size, the small bowl is deep. A ring of light decorative lattice is carved in the middle of the smooth knurl. The pipe is nicely finished with a bent stem colored in swirling shades of light and dark amber.

A knurl is a piece of solid block meerschaum that is designed in either a carved or smooth finish. It fits on the shank of the meerschaum pipe and serves as an attractive extension. A knurl makes the shank longer, thereby increasing the overall length of the pipe. With this extension, the smoke has further to travel, which gives more time to cool down before reaching the end of the mouthpiece. Knurls on our meerschaum pipes have a Teflon threaded connector, making it easy to remove when cleaning the pipe.

This meerschaum pipe is hand-carved from genuine 100% solid block meerschaum, and it is imported directly from central Turkey. After carving the pipe, it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating. The pipe will change color over time to shades of golden brown as it is smoked, drawing out nicotine and tar particles with its natural filtering. The stem is made from a special Amberoid acrylic, which provides a great finished look and long-lasting durability.
