Thunderbird Vector Lighter Insert - Regular Gas

This will be the second one I have owned. They are great. I wore the first one out. The metal tip on the flint spring broke and got jammed up at the wheel. Was finally able to dislodge it. Replaced it with an old zippo I had. The bushing under the leafspring around the tip where the flame is came loose. Got it all back together and used it untill the new one showed up. It's going to make a great backup.

I brought this insert here as they are impossible to find in Europe.

The reason I brought this specific insert is because Zippo released this year their "Soft flame butane insert" and I thought that it lacked the ability to stay lit (as you have to hold down the button)
This insert is great, you will have some slight trouble getting the insert inside or out a zippo case the first times but after that it works well. The transparent tank is very useful as you can see how much fluid you have in there and the flame adjustment is also a very useful feature.

The only warning I will give is to be careful when letting the flame burn for over 30 seconds, the wheel will get VERY hot.

Thunderbird G Insert is a tight fitting insert, but once you use it for while it will fit normally like any other insert. Flame adjustment is superb. Clear color makes it easier to fill with even the cheapest butane. Really comfortable striking, the wheel is slightly smaller than the lighter fluid zippo I think. It also is windproof somewhat with the wind guard. I like it over the other Zippo butane inserts for sure.

I purchased this insert for my brand new Zippo. Was frustrated about how the original liquid lighter fuel insert would dry up in 2-3 days (even after taking the original Zippo insert out and doing all the "tricks"). I only have had in my Zippo for a couple days, but it lights regularly so far. Only 4 stars because it was VERY difficult to take out after original insertion - literally had to use needle-nosed pliers, which marred the "chimney" up a bit, and even then took quite an effort. ? Hope this is a one time thing.

Just received it this week and so far am very happy. Is exactly what I was looking for, soft flame with no smell or evaporation issue. Time will tell if it lasts long term, I’m sure hoping so.
